The SKYLAB operates as a social enterprise. Using jet, and other aircraft, as an inspirational tool specifically linked to tailored and unique interactive workshops, we guide young people into the STEM areas of study in which to pursue rewarding careers in aviation. You can find out more about what we do on our SCHOOLS and our COMMUNITIES pages and also in our WHAT WE DO promotional movie.
As a social enterprise our aim is to make our workshops and events accessible to all young people from all social backgrounds. Specifically we outreach to schools, community groups and families at our events, visitor attractions, museums, festivals and air shows. Importantly any funds or profits we make from fundraising, events and other various activities go straight back into helping us engage more young people across Scotland and the UK.
As we carry out our charitable activities we are delighted to be able to showcase Jet Provost G-BVEZ (XM479) from the Newcastle Jet Provost Group based at Newcastle Airport as our "real life" inspirational engagement tool.
